Michael Nix is a contemporary classical composer, guitarist and performer. Nix lives and teaches in the tranquil Pioneer Valley of Franklin County in Greenfield, Massachusetts. Nix and NixWorks has performed in venues around the world and is highly renowned.

		Michael Nix Solo Guitar and Banjar Michael Nix performs on the classical guitar, and seven string Banjar, an instrument he designed, which combines elements of the classical five string banjo and the classical guitar. 		The Kurian/Nix Duo Flutes and Frets Suitable for schools, libraries and community concert series. Sue Kurian and Michael Nix perform a concert / demonstration of flutes and plucked string instruments . Kurian plays flute, alto flute and piccolo. Nix plays Banjar, classical guitar, and mandolin. This program draws on a wide variety of musical practice and style. Sue Kurian received her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the Julliard School. She has appeared in New York's Carnegie and Avery Fischer Halls, and has toured in the US, Europe and Finland. 		Michael Nix and Linda Hickman "Music and More" An interactive program featuring songs, fingerplay, movement, puppets, and music, designed for babies and preschoolers and their parents or caregivers. Linda Hickman is a children's librarian with 17 years of experience in children's programming. She has studied childrens music and guitar.
		Workshops
		Michael Nix: Practical Arranging(and Composition) for Plucked Strings: A Hands On Workshop For Beginning and Intermediate Players. Put sparkle and creativity into your arrangements for solo instruments and ensembles as you learn the basics, tips, and tricks of the composer/arranger's art. Bring an instrument, staff paper, and a pencil. We'll read through examples together, and as a group, make a new arrangement!

A daily warm up and technical development routine will allow you to play with confidence and control. Use these guidelines to assess your strengths, improve weak areas, and to structure your own effiient warm up.
		Michael Nix: Flat Pick Control. Exercises for beginners through advanced players. Learn to control your right hand flatpick technique so your scales, arpeggios, and tremolo become fast, even, and consistent. These simple exercises and warm ups help build a strong technique.
